Owned by brothers Ben and Joe Wright, Porta Tapas & Joseph Benjamin is a small group of 4 restaurants in the Northwest.
Joseph Benjamin has been awarded a prestigious Michelin ‘Bib Gourmand’ for the last 9 years and was awarded ‘Best Local Restaurant in the Northwest’ in the 2019 Good Food Guide. All four restaurants are listed in the Michelin Guide and The Good Food Guide.
As we emerge from lockdown we’re determined to raise the bar and continue the evolution of the business.
We’re looking for a chef with a couple of years experience. You will be interested in food and drink and keen to learn. The hours are good, and you will be respected and valued. This is a great opportunity to join a strong, friendly team.
Working closely with Head chef Jose and chef-owner Joe, you will be involved in maintaining extremely high standards with plenty of overlap between the Porta kitchen and the Joseph Benjamin kitchen.
A normal working week would be 45-50 hours.
Equal split of tips plus good salary based on experience.
The first ‘Porta’ was opened in Chester in 2012 by restaurateur brothers Ben & Joe Wright.
It is located next door to their multi award-winning restaurant, Joseph Benjamin (Michelin ‘Bib Gourmand’ & Good Food Guide ‘Best North West Local Restaurant’ 2019).
A second Porta opened in 2016 in the market town of Altrincham, Greater Manchester, opposite the bustling market hall. A third tapas bar opened in Bexley Square off Chapel Street, Salford in 2018.
All the restaurants feature in The Good Food Guide and Michelin Guide.
Owners Ben and Joe are hands-on operators, who are passionate about the industry and creating an enjoyable place to work.
