As we emerge from lockdown, we’re determined to raise the bar and continue the evolution of the business.

To help us do this, we’re strengthening our management team. We’re looking for someone to work alongside (GM) Richard and (Assistant Managers) Becky and Fi across Joseph Benjamin and Porta. This is a new full time role and, to be honest, could suit someone at a variety of career points. Mainly we’re looking for the ‘right person’.

If you genuinely enjoy the buzz of restaurant service and are a ‘people person’ with a few years hospitality/management experience and a strong interest in food & wine, get in touch. Good hours, good pay (equal split of good tips), nice people!

Working alongside owners Ben & Joe, and the existing management team, you will be involved in maintaining extremely high standards of customer service, systems & procedures and managing the premises in the general manager’s absence.

This is a customer-focussed role; leading the team by example and helping us raise the bar in terms of guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

As Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Salary for this position is negotiable with prior experience being taken into account.

The position includes a full split of good tips.

A normal working week would be 40-45 hours.

ABOUT Joseph Benjamin & PORTA

The first ‘Porta’ was opened in Chester in 2012 by restaurateur brothers Ben & Joe Wright.

It is located next door to their multi award-winning restaurant, Joseph Benjamin (Michelin ‘Bib Gourmand’ & Good Food Guide ‘Best North West Local Restaurant’ 2019).

A second Porta opened in 2016 in the market town of Altrincham, Greater Manchester, opposite the bustling market hall. A third tapas bar opened in Bexley Square off Chapel Street, Salford in 2018.

All the restaurants feature in The Good Food Guide and Michelin Guide.

Ben and Joe are hands-on operators, who are passionate about the industry and creating an enjoyable place to work.
